Hunts Point Heat Project- HP2 is a community heat mapping that seeks to collect outdoor temperatures and create heat maps to both identify local hot spots within the Hunts Point residential area and to identify local sources of heat. This is a community-led project that involves use of local volunteers both collecting and reporting data and observations as well as heat sensors.

This project is a collaboration between THE POINT CDC, Thriving Earth Exchange, I SEE CHANGE and local climate scientists. HP2 seeks to reduce local heat vulnerability, create community awareness and education and advocate for more green infrastructure.
